Movember at Byron
Movember is a moustache-growing charity event held every November which raises funds and awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer. Founded in Australia in 2003, last year over 480,000 people took part globally raising a total of £48.7m.
Byron is proud to support Movember because it is a fun, successful and innovative charity with a fresh approach to fund-raising. In 2010, we gave away over 9,000 hamburgers to Movember fund-raisers and also contributed 50p from each sale of our hamburger special, ‘Mighty Mo’. Over 150,000 customers were exposed to our campaign and our teams raised £23,000 independently through their own efforts.
In 2011 we aim to build on last year’s success with the help of chef and TV presenter Gizzi Erskine, www.gizzierskine.com. Gizzi has created the utterly delicious ‘Gizz-Mo’, a cheeseburger with Welsh Rarebit topping (made from mature Cheddar, smoked Cheddar, English mustard, Guinness and Worstershire sauce) which will appear on the menu as a special for the whole month.

Priced at £8.25, Byron will donate 50p from the sale of every ‘Gizz-Mo’ to Movember.
In addition, we will be rewarding all registered Movember fund-raisers who raise £25 or more with a free hamburger EVERY DAY from November 7th-20th inclusive (3pm-6pm for eat-in customers only). We’ll be disappointed if we don’t give away at least 20,000 hamburgers, so don’t let us down!
